Plans and hopes for another year...
A little over a year ago, I did a post where I laid out various things I was going to try to accomplish over the last year.
Some things were done. Others morphed into larger and/or significantly different efforts that are still underway.
Although I haven't quite moved it into production mode yet, my Exocortex is nearing that stage and will be more capable than I had originally hoped. The software set for this continues to progress. For example, I've added a notebook module, which I actually have started using under xampp as I prefer it to my other options.
The skypee robot still hasn't been released to the public, so I am exploring other options for my robotic agents.
I made significant renovations to my "lab" at home. It is actually starting to look more like a real lab instead of just a spare bedroom with lots of computer junk in it.
Anyway, here's a new list of goals for the next year:
1) Get Exocortex into production mode. This will include PIM functions, audio memory, notebooks, and newsfeeds.
2) Add spaced repetition function (Core Knowledge) to Exocortex.
3) Build "Level 0" eyetap prototype.
4) Develop basic agent code and interface hardware for Spy Video Car.
5) Plan out some form of real robot. Preferably humanoid, but reality will dictate the form.
6) Further explore robot power options. (I'm curious about using model airplane engines to turn generators for power.)
7) Get some kind of Mobile Internet Device, preferably the Nokia 810 WiMax, if a suitable service and device are actually available.
8) Get IM Chat functions enabled through Exocortex, with at least a weak chat A.I.
I don't know how much of this will get accomplished or what I might end up doing instead but it really helped me last year having some concrete goals written down to work towards.
