How to extract your head from your anus.
So, I still haven't quite gotten my basic exocortex working. Why not? In short, as I was working on getting everything installed, I realised that I wasn't confident enough in my Linux/Apache/MySQL admin skills to start running my exocortex and keep it running for the long term. So I've been studying up, trying to develop those skills further.
I really want to get goals 1 and 2 truly completed by the end of April (before I return to school), so I'm still hoping to get it up soon-ish here.
I've also been working on going back to school, via IWU's online BIS program. The current plan has me starting on 4/24/08. I really hope this works out as it will rectify one of the great regrets of my life.
As I'm nearing the end of my year-plan as discussed last April I have to say that all my realistic desires have been far exceeded. This past year has in fact been the most profitable yet on this project. I will recite all the details in a post at the end of next month.
Other big surprises are centered around OpenCog and how it has changed the prospects for Ring 0 and Ring 1. As it stands, I hope to complete the implementation of Ring 0 within 3 or 4 years, and it should be more capable than I had originally anticipated. Furthermore, the current design should allow for a far more smooth evolution into Ring 1.
