What is Cyborg Search?
Cyborg Search was originally meant to be a web seach tool for use with wearable computers such as those developed by Steve Mann. However, the HTML/Javascript-based prototype kind of got away from me and now there are three distributions of Cyborg Search: Cyborg Search, Cyborg Search Lite, and Cyborg Search Pro.
Cyborg Search is the original HTML/Javascript prototype. Because I currently use it everyday I'm still tweeking it from time to time even though it is no longer the focus of the project. To get the most out of using it you really have to think like me; searching the web the way I do. Thus, I really don't recommend using it unless you find that your habbits are compatible with mine. In addition, it has a few features that make nice demos but are severely crippled by the limitations of current web browsers (such as the "frames" feature.)
Cyborg Search Lite is a scaled down version of Cyborg Search I have embedded in my blog. It has had some of its logic simplified and some broken features removed to make it suitable for a general audience. You can embed this page in your Windows desktop via Active Desktop. If you have a web page to which you'd like to add Cyborg Search Lite, you can download this package and follow the included instructions.
Cyborg Search Pro is the distrubtion which will fulfill the original goals of the project. It is still in early development and is not yet available.
